This the "Mini Tesla Coil" that I built using designs from several people. It is not a true Tesla coil but does exhibit interesting electrostatic effects. The circuit is the Slayer Exciter, the transmitter tower design was inspired by EM devices, and the reciever tower design was inspired by Dr. Stiffler. It is powered in this video by a 5.5 volt cell phone charger that uses one AA battery as the energy source. The device was designed to run on 3v to 9v at under 200 mA. The circuit for this can be found at GBluer here at Youtube. It is not mine.

Not a tutorial. I have no camera tripod so I just showed segments of what I was doing in the project. This basic circuit just charges and monitors the batteries when there is sun, and they'll charge my phone for quite a bit afterwords. At least an hour without sun. It charges at 300ma and my phone needs 100ma or so of power to charge. So essentially it charges in real time. Great for long bike rides or hiking. The ipods, and iphones require a special communication circuit which communicates with the ipod or iphone when plugged in. This type of detection circuit needs to be created to charge such devices, so as it stands, this will not charge an ipod or an iphone, but will soon! check back later on!

I know, the title is insane. This is my 3rd or 4th offering to the altoids tin arena of projects. I travel quite a lot on business and am always in need of a few things, namely, a USB device charger, flashdrive or memory stick, small flashlight, USB hub and of course the handy bluetooth receiver. So, here it all is in one package!! Introducing, the Altoids "RoadWarrior" Survival Kit aka the "Minty-MEGAboost" !! Powered by 8, yes 8AAA batteries (4x4 in parallel) for a total of 6 volts and +/- 2200mah of charging goodness. This will charge my ipods/phones many times over and when there's isn't enough juice to keep on charging there is plenty to power the high intensity LED flashlight for days after. The flashdrive, USB hub and bluetooth receiver are all powered by the computer and work flawlessly. This thing goes everywhere I do.....except on airplanes (freaks security out bad)! -Side note: Because I'm using two 4AAA packs in parallel I can use the device with only 4 or all 8AAA batteries, handy!

The physical menu buttons is not common on android phones but fit well on here and don't feel cheap or flimsy. It's a thicker phone but has light weight to it while not feeling cheap. The big feature of this phone is the slide out PlayStation certified controller. It's a full controller with touch sensitive analog sticks. The controller feels great in the hand and I didn't get hand cramps while playing games. The buttons have a nice click to them and don't feel too small. The Xperia Play comes with a 5 megapixel rear facing camera and a front facing VGA camera. The phone doesn't record HD video which is disappointing considering that this is more in the high-end range of phones. The still images are pretty good and Sony Ericsson is known for putting solid cameras in their phones. Inside there is a 1.0 Ghz single core processor with an Adreno 205 GPU, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, pre-installed 8 GB SD card and 3G data speeds. Strange choice not to have 4G LTE on this out of the gate especially with online gaming and game downloads that you may want to do on the road. The design reminds me of a PSP Go but a lot more ...

If you want it off-contract, it costs 9. Yup, it is more expensive than the Nokia Lumia 920 at AT&T. After picking up the phone, I noticed the flat display right away. The past few phones I've been playing with all had curved displays, so the flat display stood out. I definitely like curved displays better. What's inside: - Nokia Lumia 810 Phone - Battery & Charger - USB Cable - Start Guide - Terms & Conditions The Nokia Lumia 810 has a 4.3 inch OLED Clearblack display with 800 by 480 resolution. There's an 8 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens. It does not have the Pureview technology found on the Lumia 920, so I'm looking forward to checking out the differences in image quality. The back is made of a soft-touch material. To open, you pull back on the microUSB port. Some of you may like this because that means the battery is replaceable and you can carry an extra one around for extra power. The microSIM card tray is accessible after taking the battery out. It is located under the microSD slot. This is my latest Modified Joule Thief Battery Charger. The circuit has been running now for 3 or 4 weeks one dead batteries, swapping the batteries every 2 days. I also recharged a couple of NON rechargeable batteries without any problem and they are still powering my remote controle. It will take 2 or 3 sets of 'dead' NON rechargeable batteries to completly recharge a set of NON rechargeable batteries. So when you think your batteries are empty, try this circuit on and prove the difference. Last Joule Thief Battery Charger i made was about 2 years ago and i find the joule thief such a interesting circuit i decided to build a new and better circuit. The solar cell phone charger will operate in slightly cloudy to sunny conditions and would be ideal for those who are constantly on the go and may not always have access to a traditional cell phone charging system.

I got the idea in my sleep to modify the design of existing wood gas stoves and make one to my liking. As you can see, it burns far more cleanly than any I have ever seen but still doesn't eat battery power too badly. This design is very sturdy, runs on anything from semi-dry green grass to 4" wood blocks. The cast aluminum base stays cool even after a prolonged run as long as the fan is still running, the holes a third of the way up the outside were a failed attempt to keep the stove cooler. Leave those out if you want to make one of these ^_^ The burning chamber and outer sleeve are stainless steel and it has a 1/16" hole mesh grate in the bottom On wood it generally burns for about 1.5 hours and will run for ~6+ hours on a single 2400mA 18650 (3.7V) battery boosted to 5V. This battery pack is also used for my cell phone, GPS, Ipod, PSP, and camera chargers as well as anything that uses a USB connector.
