Checking in with Washington County ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Services) from Beaverton CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) to gather information beyond the Beaverton CERT Radio Net. Earthquake Communications Exercise • Saturday, April 9 from 9:00am to Noon The Beaverton CERT Radio Team were involved in a statewide event organized by Oregon ARES. Beaverton CERT Radio Team operators participated in a 2 METER SIMPLEX voice net to simulate that all infrastructure is down, including power and repeaters. Operators sent and received messages with the Beaverton EOC (Emergency Operations Center) and simulated city, county, state and federal agencies. The scenario is a major 9.0 earthquake in the Cascadia Subduction Zone just offshore of the Oregon coast.
